Basic Rider Course
The Basic Rider Course is aimed at beginning or re-entry riders, 15 1/2 years old or older. A minimum of five hours of classroom prepares the student for ten hours of practical riding in a controlled, off-street environment-typically a parking lot that is free of obstacles and traffic. Motorcycles are provided and included in your course fee.
In the classroom, you'll learn about the different types of motorcycles, their controls, how they operate and how to become a responsible rider. Your instructor will advise you on what gear to wear for protection and comfort. You'll find out how alcohol and other drugs adversely affect your ability to ride safely.
The course concludes with a knowledge test and a riding skills evaluation. Once the instructor hands you the course completion card, you will be happy knowing that you've gone the extra mile to develop your own safe riding techniques. Your introduction to the wonderful world of motorcycling has just begun!
Experienced Rider Course
Increasing numbers of seasoned riders are attending the five-to-six hour Experienced Riders Course to hone their skills and fine-tune the mental strategies needed to survive in traffic. Most of your time will be spent working closely with our knowledgeable instructors on the outdoor riding range to practice the techniques of managing traction, stopping quickly, cornering and swerving.
In the class, you will discuss how to balance the mental and physical aspects of safe riding, manage risk, increase visibility, motorcycle inspection and care, and the effects of alcohol and other drugs when riding.
Since you will be riding your own motorcycle during the Experienced Rider Course, it will be easy to put your improved skills to use as soon as you complete the course. Your day concludes with an optional riding skill evaluation and knowledge test.
